February 2013 Newsletter
An early spring should have been on the way, according to groundhog “Punxsutawney Phil.” However, General Beau Lee from Yellow River Ranch in Lilburn, GA apparently disagreed as he emerged from his southern mansion at 7:33 am in sunny 21 degree weather on February 2nd to see his shadow, signaling six more weeks of winter weather. Perhaps this is why we have spring one day and winter the next. In either case, we still go outside twice daily to get some fresh air and exercise. Please remember to dress your children appropriately for the outdoor weather so they don’t freeze.

November 2012 Newsletter
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving whether you spent the time off in Atlanta or you hit the road traveling. I had the opportunity to rediscover what the word “relax” truly means. I hope many of you were able to rediscover that too. I want to thank everyone who came out to our first Community Night earlier this month. We had a fabulous turn out. We had delicious food, good music, and great company. Thank you to all the teachers who helped prepare and serve the food and drinks, and bus the tables. I hope you all had a chance to reconnect with other parents as well as meet some new ones.
October 2012 Newsletter
October has been a wonderful and exciting and busy month. I want to say a huge thank you to all of our parents and their families for the many hours volunteered to plan and execute all of the wonderful events that have taken place this month including opening our new primary classroom, running the Bookfair, the first field trip for the primary class, and putting together the Harvest Festival which helped bring in almost $3400. We could not have pulled off all of these events if not for everyone’s efforts.

August 2012 Newsletter
Welcome back to school!! The school year is underway and we are very excited and delighted to have the opportunityto be working with your children. The first few days of school have been full of new experiences and adventures for many, a little scary for a few, and a chance to reconnect with friends and teachers for others. You may have noticed some of your children are coming home a little extra tired these days. That is because their brains are hard at work absorbing their new lessons and experiences.
July 2012 Newsletter
It’s hard to believe this is the last day of summer camp. It seems like it was a few days ago we were gearing up for the first week of camp. As the saying goes, times flies by
when you’re having fun. And this summer was packed full of fun. From art camp with “Kids Go Wild”, to the lessons we covered in Espanol on the Amazon, to the animal adventures driving through the wild safari, and splish splashing in the pool on those hot sunny water days. And of course we can’t forget the 16 foot water slide which
the children braved, and a few teachers too, during our Family and Friends end of summer BBQ.
May 2012 Newsletter
It’s really hard to believe it’s the end of the school year already. Where has the time gone? The toddlers, many of whom started with us almost as babies, are blossoming into bright and talkative people. Many of the primary kids have gone from small people in a large environment to readers, counters, analyzers, chefs, servers, and horticulturalists. Thank you once again for entrusting your children to the staff of the Montessori Academy Scott Blvd.
